Hello fellow cattlemen! Welcome to our Third Annual Bull Sale. SHB Angus in Reardan, Washington and Gardiner Prime Angus in Bonners Ferry, Idaho are proud to bring you the best of our programs this year. As you know, both of our programs’ focus is herd improvement through genetic selection. Make no mistake, genetics are important. The Angus Association reports the value of genetics has come to be the primary differentiator in the marketplace. What has become remarkable in our business is the pace the bar is rising. We would all probably agree that excellent cattle 5 years ago are average cattle today. As breeders, we strive each year to improve the animal and its product -- tender and delicious meat, what Angus cattle are known for. .The Association tells us the improvements we make in the quality and efficiency of Angus cattle bring more dollars to the industry. And not only do Angus genetics relate directly to profitability, they are also the best way to mitigate risk. Over the years it has become apparent that genetics prove the accuracy of the EPDs we rely on. This allows us to concentrate our programs on the traits we seek to improve within an overall package that does not sacrifice the basic fitness of the animal that produces and nurtures each year’s calves. .We are happy to present our respective top breeding bulls jointly for the third consecutive year. These sale bulls were developed together at SHB Angus for most of the winter. We are thankful for the overall good health they enjoyed this year. As last year, the sale will follow a video-only format with all sale bulls physically present at the SHB sale barn for viewing on sale day, or before. The sale facility and feed lot are conveniently located off N. Wood Rd. in Reardan, Washington. All sale bulls have been housed and fed at this facility. All visitors are welcome to view the bulls any time of day. .Come early, view the bulls and join us for lunch prior to the sale. Lunch will be served at noon with the sale starting at 1:00 p.m. DVAuction will be there to broadcast the sale live online. Videos of the bulls will be available approximately two weeks before the sale on the DVAuction website, also at SHBangus.com and Gardinerprimeangus.com.
