SHA WELCOMES FIVE DIRECTORS Symone James Abiola was named Director of

Father Judge High School and St. Hubert Catholic High School, her alma mater. Prior to SHA, Robin served as the Senior Program Manager for The Yass Prize/Center for Education Reform. A background in marketing and communications is another one of Robin's strengths. Born, educated, and a lifetime resident of Philadelphia, Robin earned her MBA from Temple University and her Bachelor of Arts degree from Holy Family College. Alan Paynter was named

Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging in July 2023. Working with administrators and faculty, Symone will identify areas of specific need, such as anti-racist and anti-bias teaching and learning experiences, and oversee the implementation of actions to further build the

has instituted protocols and services for improved productivity and insight into the college process along with vibrant social media accounts to keep students engaged and excited. Alan most recently served as the Director of Admissions at Hobart and William Smith Colleges. He is also a sought-after speaker on a variety of college admission topics. Alan is a Doctoral Student of Administration & Leadership Studies at Indiana University of PA. He earned his Master of Science from Kutztown University.

Kathleen Harte Simone was named Director of Marketing & Communications in December in support of Enrollment Management, Development, Alumnae Relations, and SHA family communications. Kathleen oversees SHA’s website content and design, social media, marketing materials, advertising, public relations,

Donna Romero was named Director of Academics this summer. As the Director of Academics, Donna will plan, organize, lead, and execute all aspects of the academic program at SHA, including designing and integrating innovative new programs, providing best-practice solutions for student access to academic studies, and seeking partnerships with other programs.

Prior to SHA, Kathleen was the Athletics Media Manager at Germantown Friends School, responsible for communications of the school’s 65+ teams and the systemization of the 40+ student-run athletics social media accounts. She was the founder and managing editor of a field hockey website that garnered national attention, and was the Assistant Athletic and Sports Information Director at The Baldwin School. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from Temple University.

Donna comes from Friends Select School (FSS) in Center City Philadelphia where she served as Drama Department Chair, Middle & Upper School Drama Teacher, and English Teacher. Her other teaching positions in English and/or Theater include Cathedral High School for Girls and Loyola School, both in Manhattan, and Villa Maria Academy. Donna holds a B.A. in English/Drama with a Minor in Secondary Education from Saint Joseph’s University and a M.A. in Educational Theatre from New York University.

Robin Nolan was appointed Director of Development in July 2023. In conjunction with the Head of the School Carla Jantos MacMullen, the Board of Trustees, and the Advancement staff, Robin will spearhead relationship- building efforts, fundraising campaigns, and building the SHA Annual Fund. Robin brings vast development

experience and a deep understanding of education in the area having been the Director of Institutional Advancement at
