1950's Helen Moran Locke ’53 is still substitute teaching in the local suburban Diocesan schools. She was the recipient of the Lower Merion 7 over 70 Award during a ceremony held at the Belmont Hills Library in May 2022. Helen’s daughter, Mary Locke Cavallaro ’86 , the 2023-24 Board Chair, served as the SHA Head of School Search Committee Chair. Her granddaughter, and recent Sacred Heart graduate Bailey Cavallaro ’22 is continuing her studies at the University of Essex in the UK.

Suzanne and Anne Dyer RSCJ, SHA Trustee, attended the 44th AASH National Conference in Portsmouth, Rhode Island, hosted by Saint Philomena School of the Sacred Heart. 1980's Mary Frances Phelan De Bellescize ’84 serves on the Board of the Madeleine Sophie Barat Center in Joigny, France. A group of Upper School students were surprised to learn that one of the guides from the spirituality center was a SHA graduate. Mary Frances spent a day and a half sharing Saint Madeleine Sophie Barat's family history, which included a house and vineyard tour where she prayed. We were so grateful to share this wonderful experience with Mary Frances. 1990's Jennifer Ganley Ballios ’93, Esquire assisted with the revision of the SHA Alumnae Board By-Laws. Her daughter Sophie Ballios is a member of the Class of 2026. 2000's Rosanna Garay Powers ’01 returned to campus last spring to talk to Grade 12 students about internet safety before they head off to college in the fall. This spring, Rosanna conducted an internet safety program with Middle School students. She is a ​ Senior Investigative Analyst for the Delaware County Criminal Investigations PA Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force. The Gamble family hosted

Alice McMahon ’53 (left) has retired and lives in Winter Park, FL. She is very active in her church’s social ministry program. Missie O’Brien Corey ’61 hosted a luncheon at her home in Delray Beach for Sacred Heart east coast Florida alumnae in March 2022. In attendance were two sets of sisters: Judy Kelly Shea ’59 and Chris Kelly Kiernan ’61 and Marianne Froio Goff ’61 and Madeleine Tierney Froio ’70 . They were joined by former Advancement Director Kathy Gallagher. The women shared stories of their time at Overbrook and enjoyed spending time together after too many years. 1970's Laurie Fitzgerald Nowlan ’73 read her published children’s book Robbie to the Rescue to the Lower School students. We look forward to her returning to read the newest book. Grainne Mannion Pergolini ’77 launched the first SHA Alumnae Book Club last fall. She selected The Vanishing Half by Brit Brown, which sparked a lively discussion among the following participants: Rosemary Seifret Browne ’70 , Tracy Blake DeVlieger ’77, Kate Pergolini Gionta ’11 , Vicki Santora Hibbs ’78, Carol Honebrink Lavoritano ’70, Carlia Miller ’04, Kate DeLone Moore ’77, Vicky Parente ’77, Beth Porter ’78, Suzanne Santora Robinson ’76 and Chris Barrett Ryan ’79 . Grainne worked with English Teacher Kerri Schuster on a joint student and Alumnae Book Club gathering. We look forward to joining the students again in October. the alumnae with a seat on the Board of Trustees. Among her many contributions while in office, Bridget was responsible for a revision of the by-laws and the addition of the BIPOC and Social Media committees. SHA is grateful to Bridget for her commitment to her alma mater. Cassie Nentwig Carlile ’04 was the speaker for the Class of 2022 SHA Alumnae Association Induction Ceremony. Cassie has just finished her second term on the SHA Alumnae Board and was a member of the executive board, serving as the vice president.
