(AS FEATURED OVER THE BIOLA HOUR)

HEAVEN'S TITLE DEED It was back in 1921 that a well- known spiritual leader, Dr. Charles E. Fuller, director of the Old Fashioned Revival Hour, was graduated from. Biola. God has singularly blessed his ministry through these many years. One of his good friends was the well- known Bible teacher and evangelist, Dr. Harry Rimmer, who followed with real interest the testimony of the radio ministry. One Sunday night he heard the announcement that on the subse quent week, Dr. Fuller would talk about the subject of heaven. He was so impressed with the theme that he de cided to write a letter of encourage ment to his brother in Christ. Dr. Rim mer penned, “Dear Brother Fuller, Next Sunday, you are going to talk about Heaven. I am interested in that land because I have held a clear title to a bit of property up there for about 50 years. I didn’t buy it, for it was given to me without price. The donor purchased it for me at a tremendous sacrifice. It is not being held for specu lation and it is not just a vacant lot. For more than half a century I have been sending materials up to the great est Architect of the universe. He has been building a home for me which will never need to be remodeled or repaired. Termites can never undermine its foun dations, for it rests upon ‘The Rock of A g es’ No lock or bolts will ever be placed on the doors. It is almost com pleted, ready for me to enter and abide in peace eternally, without fear of be ing ejected. “There is a valley of deep shadow between this place where I now live and that to which I shall journey in a very short time. I am not afraid, however, because the best friend I ever had went through this same valley long, long ago. He drove away all its gloom. I own His promise in printed form never to forsake or to leave me

alone. I hope to hear your sermon on Heaven next Sunday; however, I have no assurance that Til still be here. My passage to leave has no date marked for the journey, no return ticket, and no permit for baggage. I am ready to go, and will meet you there someday. Your brother in Christ, Harry Rim mer.” Interestingly enough, Dr. Rimmer did take that journey to Heaven before Dr. Fuller even received the letter. When the message went out over the air, he was already in Heaven, enjoy ing his blessed inheritance promised in God’s Word. Can we say with the Apos tle Paul, “For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, an house not made vnth hands, eternal in the heavens”? A FATHER'S FORGIVENESS English history records the tragic story of the rebellious son of King Henry who rose up in arms against his father. The situation was so grave that the monarch had to take his army and track down his own son, even as he would a criminal insurrectionist. With his fanatic followers, the lad was trapped in a French fortress but re fused to give up. The walled bastion was besieged, with all food and water cut off. When he finally surrendered, the son was ill. So repentant was he of his sinfulness and rebellion, he had asked his followers to clothe him in sackcloth and to set him in a bed of ashes where he could die in reproach and scorn. You can imagine how his father felt when he saw his son in such awful circumstances. Falling to his knees at the boy’s side, the king wept as did David of old, “Oh, my son, would God that I had died for thee.” But it was now too late; the wasted life was gone, and in agony the rebellious son died. How often we have gone astray
