Jonathan Doherty pays tribute to first responders who saved his life Jonathan’s story in The Independent WHEN Jonathan Doherty (43) began feeling pains in his arm after a 5k jog, he thought it was muscular. However the father-of-two couldn’t shake it off as he got out of the shower, and ended up taking to bed before passing out. He didn’t realise he was suffering a massive heart attack that would lead to a cardiac arrest. Mr Doherty has now paid tribute to the “hero” husband-and-wife team who brought him back from being close to death. He says he would not have survived without first-responder neighbours, Deirdre and Jonathan Roughneen. The quantity surveyor is supporting global Restart a Heart Day this month, which urges everyone to know the location of their nearest defibrillator.
