March 15, 2021 Regular Meeting Directors Report

Softscape: Includes decorative planters and their borders, grass, artificial turf, flowers, decorative rock or other vegetation. Desertscape: Is defined as a landscape design appropriate to a desert environment. The design should depict the desert environment in the simplest and cleanest form and incorporate natural colors, texture and placement.

To enable future replacement of sprinkler and electrical lines to the front of the lot, the A&A Committee may deny requests for hardscape installations that will directly adjoin the neighboring hardscape, and may require a strip of removeable'softscape between the lots or require utility conduit be put under the hardscape for water and electrical for future needs. Approved unanimously by the A&A committee at the A&A meeting on February 10, 2021. ,i Rule 5: *"This is the JIii season we will require permits be submitted by April 1• 1 so they can be approved or denied by April 15. As our resort has grown and products have become available there are structures and landscaping that require multiple A&A Committee members present to approve/deny a permit because of the complexity of incorporating such changes onto the lots complying with the Cathedral City codes and ORPS A&A rules. Lot lines have been a large issue as owners are gleaning every inch of use and electrical and plumbing involved with things such as kitchens and shade structures can be confusing. As a result, it takes qualified, trained A&A members to make decisions and give the owners proper advice on how to proceed with their project. It is almost impossible to UNDO an improperly done lot redo, a kitchen install, a shade structure install and fences on the wrong property just to mention a few projects. This was proven true to the A&A this year when we returned to many permits improperly done. We are recommending that our review process we have followed the last few years be incorporated into the A&A Rules. SECTION 13 - GENERAL MANAGER APPROVAL
