As the spring quarter for the year 2021 begins, you feel a gentleness surround- ing you. This is because the new Moon that occurs on March 13 th has the Sun and Moon in Pisces and forms a con- junction to both Venus and Neptune. When the new Moon is in Pisces, you want to pull away from external activities. You want to reflect on cir- cumstances surrounding you. And with Venus and Neptune conjunct to each other and also in the sign of Pi- sces, you want to see the best people have to offer. Neptune is often considered the higher octave of Venus in spiritual astrology, so this means you want to believe other people care about situ- ations. You also want to show them compassion, but you may have an ide- alistic concept of the world right now. You don’t want any pain to continue. Yet, while you feel compassion for oth- ers and want to see the best in them, don’t let them take advantage of you. When the Sun enters the sign of Aries on March 20 th the astrological year begins and spring officially oc- curs in the Western Hemisphere. The gentleness you felt earlier this month is now shifting. Not only is the Sun in Aries, but so are Chiron and Ceres. Plus, Mars plays a very prominent role in this chart. It’s in the sign of Gemini and conjuncts both the Moon’s North Node and the Moon, which are also in the sign of Gemini. What this means is you want to move forward with your life. You want to be engaged with other people. While you want to make cer- tain you’re safe, you also don’t want to be isolated anymore. And with Mars in Gemini playing a prominent role in this chart, you’ll find there is a greater push to get children back to classroom education and more individuals back to their offices. On a global level, nations and their leaders want to move forward with changes. While it’s still important to protect the public due to the pandemic, it’s also critical that government lead- ers recognize there is COVID fatigue. Not only do programs need to be im- plemented that enable society to start returning to normal, but government leaders are recognizing they need to work together. The full Moon that occurs on March 28 th is one of the four super Moons occurring in a row this year. Super Moons occur when the Moon is closer to the earth than usual. When this hap- pens, there’s a tendency for emotions to run higher than normal. You want to take action and return to a more nor- mal life where you can socialize with others; but with the Sun in Aries and the Moon in Libra, you’re not willing to take any chances. This is especially true with the Sun forming a conjunc- tion to Chiron, Venus, and Ceres while the Moon forms an opposition to these planets. You want to keep your loved

ones and your personal space safe. So go with your feelings and do what it takes to protect yourself and those you love. The need to take care of yourself and your loved ones continues on April 11 th when the new Moon occurs. At this time the energy of Aries is extremely strong: Chiron, Mercury, Ceres, the Sun, the Moon, and Venus are all in Ar- ies. When you have this much energy in one sign it’s important to pay atten- tion. Aries represents your need to take action in life. Often you act without thinking about the consequences of your actions. You just rush into situ- ations, and you’re tired of rules other people have created. You’re more will- ing to take risks, especially since this is the time of the new Moon. You want to start something new and that means getting out into the world. The positive aspect of this new Moon is that it also forms a sextile to Mars in Gemini and a sextile to Jupiter in Aquarius. You’ll find a lot of support from other people, but, this could also mean some form of rebellion if too many leaders create too many rules. There is a major shift of energy by the time the second super Moon occurs on April 26 th . No longer is the empha- sis on the energy of Aries—the empha- sis with this full Moon is on the sign of Taurus. This means you don’t want to take any action until you understand the potential end result of your action. The Sun is in Taurus along with Uranus, Venus, and Mercury while the Moon is in Scorpio. This full Moon also forms a square to Saturn and cre- ates what we astrologers call a fixed T-Square. Usually during the time pe- riod of a full Moon, you want to let go of things and move on with your life. Yet, when planets are in a fixed sign, it’s more difficult to let go. You need to deal with things that are under the surface. If you feel frustrated today, it’s because you’ve been avoiding specific problems that need to be resolved. If you don’t, they could just erupt like a volcano and you won’t be able to con- trol your anger. A great way to use the energy of this full Moon is to consider what garbage you need to toss from your life. Also, consider what experi- ences you’ve had that can help you continued on page 23
