Calypso pleure le décès de son fondateur

Guy Drouin, le fondateur des parcs Calypso de Limoges et Village Vacances Valcartier, près de Québec, est décédé la semaine dernière des suites d’un cancer. « Nous sommes tous secoués par ce dé- part et sommes éplorés de savoir que notre père n’aura pas pu voir sa plus récente créa- tion en action, le Bora Parc, ont indiqué ses enfants, par voie de communiqué. Ce parc et son hôtel étaient le plus gros projet de sa vie et représentent le legs de notre père en faveur de la région. Sa disparition nous brise le cœur, mais son audace et sa générosité légendaires nous traceront le chemin pour l’avenir. Cet homme d’exception a dédié sa vie à amuser les familles du pays et il a gardé le sourire jusqu’à la fin », ont déclaré ses fils Mathieu, Simon et Jérôme Drouin. En 1972, après des études en génie, Guy Drouin avait acquis, de son père, de vastes terrains à Valcartier, à 20 minutes de Qué- bec, sur lesquels il a développé le plus grand centre de jeux d’hiver en Amérique - inven- tant par le fait même la glissade sur chambre à air - et par la suite, il y créa le plus grand parc aquatique au pays, en impliquant très tôt ses fils dans les opérations.

Village Vacances Valcartier and Calypso announced the death of founder Guy Drouin, which occurredMonday evening, November 28. GuyDrouinwas the visionary behind the creation and development of Calypso Theme Waterpark outside Ottawa and Village Vacances Valcartier En 2010, il a répété l’exploit en ouvrant Calypso, à Limoges, avec le soutien de ses fils, et qui amérité en 2015 le titre demeilleur parc thématique au pays. Ce samedi, le Bora Parc, le seul parc aquatique intérieur sans fenêtre aumonde, ouvre ses portes à Village Vacances Valcartier.
