CATHETER: Feed the catheter into the introducer sheath to the required depth.

GUIDEWIRE: Using the thumb notch, retract the curved "J" tip. Place the tip of the guidewire introducer into the catheter hub and feed the guidewire slowly using the thumb notch. **ALWAYS HOLD ON TO THE GUIDEWIRE** TISSUE DILATOR: Keeping the guidewire stable, remove the introducer catheter. Feed the dilator onto the guidewire. Pinch the skin proximal to the insertion site to create a skin tent and use firm pressure to introduce the dilator. Use the provided scalpel to make a small skin nick if needed. Do not feed the dilator and guidewire as one unit. CATHETER: Keeping the guidewire stable with your non-dominant hand, remove the dilator. Feed the catheter onto the wire, paying close attention to the wire as it exits the distal port. DO NOT INSERT THE CATHETER IF THE WIRE HAS NOT EXITED THE OTHER END. **ALWAYS HOLD ON TO THE GUIDEWIRE. ** Remove the guidewire. Secure the catheter in place with the included suture. Sutures through the wing eyelets should be pulled toward the insertion site. If the final indwelling depth is not at the catheter hub, use the included suture wing and blue clamp to secure the extended external length in place at the insertion site.

Hold catheter hub or extension set against the animal. Grasp the blue handles with both hands and snap away from the hub to break them apart. Gently pull the introducer sheath out of the insertion site ~0.5cm at a time. Pull the handles away from each other to tear the sheath apart. Take care to avoid splitting the peel-away directly at the insertion site. Once the peel-away has been completely split and removed, push the remainder of the catheter to the required depth.
