Tariff Uncertainty Impacts All Businesses: Companies of all sizes are facing challenges due to shifting tariff policies. What’s happening: • President Trump announced a 50% tariff on Canadian steel and aluminum, with a 25% tariff on other trading partners, effective March 12. • The Canadian tariff may revert to 25%, but ad- ditional duties on certain goods mean real costs could be much higher. Why it matters: • Tariffs raise costs for businesses and consumers • Supply chains can be disrupted, impacting production and pricing.
Business Leaders Talk Childcare with Capitol Hill Business leaders and representatives from state and local chambers of commerce across the country went to Capitol Hill to advocate for expanded access to childcare programs. What’s happening: The U.S. Chamber of Commerce organized a fly-in event in late February for business represen- tatives and state and local chamber leaders from across the country to meet with key lawmakers on the childcare needs of American workers. Why it matters: • A robust childcare system is needed to support a strong workforce and thriving economy.
