West Division/Joyce Street Facility Renova- tions Completed The City of Fort Worth purchased the vacant 14,040 square foot former Bank of America building in 2014 and completed the renovation in June 2018. This facility re- places the West Patrol Division facility at 5320 Trail Lake Drive, which was a month-to-month lease at risk of termi- nation due to the property owner’s development plans for the site. Personnel moved into the new location in July. The new facility is next to the existing West Patrol Divi- sion facility at 3525 Marquita Drive creating a West Patrol campus.

On August 4, the Code Blue After Dark Basketball League hosted the 2018 Inaugural Fort Worth Mayor’s Back-to-School Basketball Showcase. Attendees re- ceived free school supplies. The event was attended by Mayor Betsy Price, Chief Joel Fitzgerald, and other local officials. Back-to-School Events

On August 9, Will Rogers Memorial Center hosted the Back-to-School Round Up. The event provided free school supplies to 10,000 students in grades Pre-K through 12th who reside in Tarrant County. Chief Joel Fitzgerald, members of FWPD Executive Staff, and Neighborhood Police Officers attended the event. Mem- bers of FWPD assisted in handing out school supplies to students and offered back-to-school advice.

New West 7th Storefront Opening This new storefront located at 308 Arthur will serve the West 7th area. The storefront will allow West Division officers to increase their presence and service to one of the busiest entertainment destinations in the city. The storefront is expected to be fully operational in October 2018.
