“As someone who was born and raised in the North West, Clyde & Co was an instant attraction: a large city firm with a strong international and regional presence. Combined with a leading sector focus and a healthy work life balance, applying for a training contract was a given. Three years later – after successfully securing a training contract, completing my GDL, LPC and first year as a trainee – I have just started my third seat in Clyde & Co’s Employment team based in the Manchester office. “I am a second year trainee currently sitting in the Corporate / Commercial team, which is split between our London and Guildford offices. Clyde & Co is a full-service law firm which is great because it has meant that I have had exposure to both contentious and transactional work during my training contract with my first seat in Specialty Insurance and my second in Real Estate. Highlights of my training contract so far include participating in two high-value, international arbitration hearings where we acted for the insurers and independently handling small property transactions where I had direct client contact.”
“The application process for the Vacation Scheme consisted of a written application and Assessment Centre, which involved group, written and discussion exercises as well as an interview. The day ran very smoothly, and the firm really put us at ease, both before and during the day. The Vacation Scheme definitely exceeded expectations. People across all levels and departments were incredibly generous with their time and spoke with such genuine affection for the firm. I was even able to attend virtual hearings and pre-trial client conferences. I am really excited to begin my training contract with Clyde & Co next year.
