MPH Adds New Esko CDI Plate Imaging Unit
TS Plastics Adds Vetaphone Corona Technology
Prepress and platemaking specialist MPH Ltd, Manning- tree, UK, has added a new CDI flexo plate imaging unit at its Essex facility. Founded in 1982, MPH started out as a prepress art- work studio and platemaking business. Following a man- agement buyout of the business in 2020, the entire facility relocated to a factory space along the River Stour in Man- ningtree, Essex.
Malaysia-based TS Plastics has installed an 800mm wide Webcontrol laminating machine and chose to fit Veta- phone corona technology for the first time.
TS Plastics’ production largely focusses on multi-layer laminated products using OPP, PE, Nylon, Alu foil, metal- lised films, CPP and LLDPE substrates, on all of which the Company is accredited to GSFI, FSSC 22000 (5.1) and ISO 9001:2015 standards. Established in 1978 to manufacture PP printed bags, TS Plastics grew over the next two decades to move into multi-layer laminated bags to meet the changing market demands. ISO accreditation came in 2004 and Malaysia’s ‘Golden Bull’ award in 2007.
“Following our recent investment in a brand new Vi- anord Engineering flexographic plate processor, the inte- gration of this second Esko CDI imager into our produc- tion is a testament to our ongoing efforts to enhance our processes and deliver unparalleled results to our clients,” said MPH Director Ian Runacres. “This investment aligns seamlessly with our dedication to delivering high-quality flexographic printing solutions with increased efficiency and precision.” Self-Adhesive Labels Market Projected To Hit $69.2B The Global Self-adhesive Labels Market is projected to grow from $53.2 billion in 2023 to $69.2 billion by 2028 at a compound annual growth rate of 5.4 percent, according to a recent study by MarketsandMarkets. The self-adhesive labels market is influenced by grow- ing demand from packaging companies. The growth of the packaging industry will have a posi- tive impact on the self-adhesive labels market as consum- ers give preference to packaged branded food as com- pared to ones that are sold unbranded. Opportunities arise from growing economies. The mar- kets for self-adhesive labels in developed economies such as North America and Europe have become saturated. However, developing markets such as Brazil, India, and China are in a growth stage. MPH Prepress professional Lee Hazelton puts the new Esko CDI Spark through its paces.
