Welcome to the CIPD Northern Ireland HR Awards 2021 We're absolutely delighted to be celebrating in person with people professionals from across Northern Ireland this afternoon, as well as with those joining us virtually.

It’s been a challenging time and many in HR, L&D and OD have worked tirelessly to put their people first. People professionals have led their organisation’s response to COVID, and continue to do so. The quality of entries for this year’s awards truly demonstrates the critical role that HR plays in delivering outstanding people initiatives that are transforming working lives in the most difficult times.

A big congratulations for all the outstanding work, and to the individuals and teams who have made this year's shortlist.

Judging across several categories was particularly tricky this year. I’d like to thank our judges for their efforts in reviewing all entries and for taking a whole day out of their busy schedules to interview all those shortlisted. Each interview allows candidates the opportunity to bring their submission to life, helping the judges reach those difficult decisions as to who is the most deserving winner. Many thanks also to our sponsors without whom we wouldn't be able to run the awards, in particular to MCS Group, our headline sponsor, who are sponsoring the awards for a third consecutive year, and to our media sponsor nijobfinder, who we collaborate with on a number of events throughout the year.

Have a great afternoon.
