Keynoting the conference will be Michael Doss, President and CEO of Graphic Packaging International, who will offer his insights on the state of the industry. Also headlining the event are Mark King, VP, Global Diversity & Inclusion at WestRock, and Jeff Rosensweig, economist and Professor at Emory University, who will offer the latest economic fore- cast for folding cartons. “While we won’t be meeting in Savannah as originally planned, I am looking forward to seeing our membership come together virtually,” said Ben Markens, PPC President. “Going virtual has also allowed us to give our converter members new value for employees at every level of their organizations. We’ve implemented an enterprise registration so compa- nies can affordably send three or more staff members.” The Fall Meeting virtual platform has also opened the door to another new opportunity: PPC’s first virtual trade show. A must-attend for plant employees who would have attended drupa, the virtual tradeshow will allow boxmakers to learn about the latest technologies and products from industry suppliers who can connect in live-time with the attendees who visit their virtual booths. As always, PPC 2020 Fall Meeting will feature an awards ceremony for the winners of their North American Paperboard Packaging Competi- tion, as well as the winners of the 2020 Paperboard Packaging Alliance Student Design Challenge. Administered and hosted by PPC and judged by a jury of packaging professionals, industry experts, and professors, the North American Paperboard Packaging Competition is the premier competition for carton manufacturers involved in the concept, design, print, performance, and shelf appeal of paperboard packaging. The Paperboard Packaging Alliance (PPA) is a joint initiative of the American Forest & Paper Association (AF&PA) and PPC. Its mission is to promote the benefits of paperboard packaging and products to influ- ence preference for these materials in packaging design and selection. The PPA’s main objectives are to plan and conduct the annual Student Design Challenge, to promote innovative paperboard packaging design and encourage college students in design, graphic arts and engineering programs to pursue careers in the paper-based packaging industry.
