Volleyball: EVP Junior Volley Series Match Play • AGES 11-14 Interested in playing volleyball with other volleyball athletes with skills to compete against other park district teams? Coaches will develop a team and bring parity to the weekly instruction to prepare for bi-monthly matches. The coaches’ lesson plan will guide the team in weekly training for 90 minutes. Registrants will learn team defense and offense positions while they improve their fundamentals of passing, setting, spiking and overhand serving. This is a 4-week program that meets once per week for 90 minutes and has two match play events on Sundays. The lesson plan directs the use of individual training, pairing drills and game situation development that help each student reach a new level. Instructors organize short games at the end of each class. The lesson plan also incorporates leadership and educational components. Fencing is a recreational and competitive sport that incorporates agility, strength, coordination, balance and timing. This program focuses on the discipline and training in foil. A foil is a thrusting weapon with a thin, flexible blade and a small, round bell guard. This program runs concurrently in the same room as the club program with adults and children fencing together.
