Collaborations with History This seems like the best time of year to express my gratitude. I am so very grateful for our students, faculty, and community partners. This semester, the Early Childhood Education students have been giving back by volunteering and creating beauty in our little space on campus with the guidance of Candice Wise. Students graciously gave up some time on Saturdays to volunteer with First Steps of Indiana at a family literacy event, Buzz and Flutter, and were prepared to care for children at the EDUC Teacher’s Moderated Panel event. Candice asked students in her ECED 103 class to create a bulletin board on a curriculum concept called “Loose Parts.” They did a fabulous job and have included take-away information on the board with flyers on how playing with loose parts will enhance a child’s development. Try to meander outside of IFC 429 to enjoy the board and information. I have always known it takes a team effort to accomplish things, and I am feeling proud of our students who have gone above and beyond the classroom. Please enjoy some photos from these events. “ ” ~Rose Wilson, ECED Program Chair
