MERLO ROTO: TODAY’S ROTATING TELEHANDLER OF CHOICE

A s job sites become more complex and space constraints increase, the need for versatile, high-performance lifting equipment has never been greater. Enter the Merlo ROTO series— an innovative range of rotating telehandlers that offer unmatched flexibility, efficiency, and safety. With models designed to suit a variety of applications, the Merlo ROTO is the go-to choice for contractors seeking an edge in productivity and adaptability. A ROTO FOR EVERY NEED Compact and Manoeuvrable: ROTO 40.16S & 40.18S At the entry level, the compact ROTO 40.16S and 40.18S (up to 4 tonnes and 15.8m and 17.7m lift height) offer a 415-degree rotation, making them ideal for confined urban construction sites and small-scale forestry applications. They feature a simple up and down stabiliser system and are equipped with a two-speed hydrostatic 40kph transmission. Eco Power Drive (EPD) maximises efficiency by adjusting speed only when needed, reducing noise levels and improving fuel economy. EPD also integrates a self-accelerating joystick, enhancing both performance and operator comfort.

Mid-Range Powerhouse: ROTO 50 Series Stepping up, the 5 tonne lift capacity ROTO 50.21SPLUS (21m), 50.26SPLUS (25.9m), 50.30SPLUS (29.2m), and 7 tonne, 70.24SPLUS (24.2m) feature the standout 20-degree tilting cab to give the operator the best possible view of high- elevation tasks. The dual hydraulic pump ensures faster cycle times, while the continuous rotation turret and “out and down” automatic stabilisers with levelling, simplify machine setup, improving both safety and efficiency. These models take the larger ZM3 Merlo ‘tac-lock’ headstock catering to loads over five tons. Heavy-Duty Excellence: ROTO 50.35SPLUS & 70.28SPLUS At the top end of the spectrum, the 5 and 7 tonne capacity ROTO 50.35SPLUS (34m lift height) and 70.28SPLUS (28m) come standard with CVTRONIC transmission, providing seamless acceleration from 0 to 40kph across tortoise and hair ranges. These machines are built for the most demanding job sites, delivering maximum performance with minimal operator effort. Innovative Features for Maximum Productivity All UK ROTO models come with a rear full-locking differential, controlled via a floor button for superior off-road traction. Well-positioned chassis steps facilitate

easy cab access, with additional engine- side steps on models exceeding 21m in lift height. Operator-Focused Cab Design The ROTO cab prioritises ease of use and comfort, featuring: • Simple and easy access to the cab; the door of a Merlo telehandler can lock open up to 180°. In addition, the inside of the door is equipped with a large handrail to help the operator when getting in and out of the cab • A convenient ground-level door latch eliminates the need to climb up to secure the cab. • 20 degree tilting cab (not compact 4 tonne models) • Developed according to automotive standards, Merlo’s optional cab air- conditioning cuts the warm-up and cool-down times in half compared to a conventional air conditioning system. The inlet vent is placed on the side of the cab, away from potential sources of dust and dirt, while inside there are 8 vents. Inside the cab, the operator can find clear, simple controls, grouped into three functional areas 1.Machine management: stabilisers, park brake, cab tilting (where present), steering, and suspension- (where present). 2.Joystick functionality: locks and continuous flow management.
