AT THE FOREFRONT OF THE TECHNOLOGICAL CHANGES
P artsformachines.com founder and MD, Abhishek Tanwar has a long association with the construction machinery industry, having cut his teeth in the machinery sector selling parts to Copper mines in Zambia. That started a lifelong learning about what makes various manufacturing companies tick and some of the opportunities and challenges they face. “The construction machinery market was still very much the preserve of the machine OEMs and their dealers,” Abhishek Tanwar explains. “There is a great deal of brand loyalty, which shouldn’t be either decried or underestimated. But if you run a number of different machines and want parts, you have to go round the various manufacturers’ dealers and source them individually. “Also, being locked into a manufacturer system might mean having to buy OE parts, when you might be depriving yourself of the opportunity to buy a good, quality part at a different price point - one that was, depending on the age of your machine, more in line with your needs.” Rather than the bigger fleets, Partsformachines.com views the owner/operator, with up to half a dozen machines as its primary target, as they tend to have more flexibility. Starting as an e-commerce business with 1 brand and 1000 product references in 2021 Partsformachines.com has now grown to over 250,000 products and 60 supplier partners. It anticipates growing to over one million part references by the middle of 2026 and well over 100
supplier partners - such is the strength of the response, and growth in sales, it is experiencing. Companies who initially were sceptical, have now embraced the Partsformachines.com concept and are profiting from being part of it. “I think we have to be realistic,” Abhishek Tanwar comments, “if you are doing something different – it often takes time to establish yourself. “We are at the forefront of the technological changes taking place in the industry, but we have seen that the construction sector’s sometimes slow in embracing change. For example e-commerce, which is now ubiquitous in our daily lives, is yet to fully penetrate our sector. But the landscape is changing.” Partsformachines.com is embracing AI to enhance customer experience by helping them find what they need more quickly and easily. “The use of AI is now central to creating value for our customers, something which has always been at the heart of our business - as demonstrated by our 4.9/5.0 satisfaction rating” adds Abhishek Tanwar. “We are embracing AI to help drive efficiency, engagement and customer support, all of which is helping us grow in a challenging market.” Having launched in the UK, it has always been the intention to make Partsformachines.com an international platform. The first steps came recently with the launch of Partsformachines. com for Ireland and, with the help of AI, Partsformachines.com, in foreign countries will launch, language-native, in the near future.
