From humble beginnings in 1991 to becoming one of the UK’s largest independent suppliers of construction machinery parts, Plant Parts has not only grown but thrived—by staying true to its core values of quality, innovation, customer satisfaction, and family-driven dedication. The journey began with Richard Finch, who in 1991 was running a small plant hire business and who saw a gap in the market for a dependable supplier of machinery parts. With a keen understanding of the intricate flow of parts between suppliers, manufacturers, and end users, Richard set out to bridge the gap between delivery time and cost by creating a business that prioritised quality, speed, and trust. “I began my working life as a plant fitter,” Richard says. “Over the years, I built my experience and understanding of the industry and I came to realize that machine operators need more than just a parts supplier—they need a reliable partner that can be trusted to consistently deliver high quality parts on time at a fair price.” That vision gave birth to Plant Parts Ltd, which started as a modest operation focusing on Komatsu parts and The Humble Beginnings: A Vision Turned Reality which has since evolved into a complex and highly specialised enterprise. Today, the company doesn’t just offer Komatsu parts—it provides parts for machines across many industries, supporting over 150 brands of tracked and wheeled equipment.
