LATEST ‘PLUG-AND-PLAY’ INNOVATION SEES SAFETY SHIELD BREAK NEW GROUND IN HUMAN FORM RECOGNITION AI
S afety Shield Global, the world leader in Human Form Recognition software, is set to launch its latest innovation designed to ensure the protection and safeguarding of workforces using heavy plant machinery. Having already delivered the market’s first ever HFR artificial intelligence system, a new fully-integrated ‘plug-and- play’ product update will now make it easier, quicker and more cost-effective for clients to install by using cameras already mounted on excavators. All machines purchased with factory fitted integral cameras can now be adapted in a fraction of the time with the new Safety Shield product – the only HFR system on the market that has been awarded an accuracy measure of 99.6% by independent testing bodies. State-of-the-art technology enables the system to patch into the vehicle’s existing cameras and works seamlessly with any OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer), cutting installation times by half and reducing the amount of downtime where the machine is out of service. The first such product to be launched, Safety Shield is also offering a series of
special training days where third party engineers can learn how to install and maintain the technology – giving clients the power of long-term sustainability of the product. Originally developed for the construction industry, Safety Shield is the most advanced AI HFR system on the market, and is now being developed to work on any type of plant, for industries such as rail, waste and recycling, agriculture, forestry, warehousing and logistics. Founder and creator of Safety Shield Global, Jonathan Guest, has dedicated his life to improving worksite safety after a close friend of his was crushed by an excavator and died. Working with the government, research institutes, transport authorities and construction companies, he led a research and development team as they developed the Safety Shield product which is now used all over the world. Last year, Safety Shield Global was a proud recipient of the King’s Award for Enterprise: Innovation, an honour which saw Jonathan invited down to Windsor Castle where he met King Charles III. But the hard work will not stop until death and injury have been fully
eradicated from environments where heavy plant machinery continues to pose a danger to vulnerable workers. Jonathan said: “Last year was a very special one for Safety Shield Global as the business went from strength to strength and we received recognition from the King. However, we know there is still work to be done and our teams of engineers have been busy developing systems which will go a long way to making our sites even safer. “The new product update enables the Safety Shield HFR system to be installed onto any excavator which has had cameras fitted by the OEM. Our technology – the first to be able to do this on the market – has been adapted so that it can work with those cameras, cutting down installation and maintenance time.”
