Department of Biology and Chemistry The Department of Biology and Chemistry offers students a friendly and engaging environment to study the science of life. The Bachelor of Science in Applied Biology provides a base knowledge of biology for students preparing for any field of life sciences. The Bachelor of Science in Forensic Biology focuses on laboratory skills, field activities and hands-on training, giving graduates diverse career opportunities in the ever-expanding field of forensics. Embry-Riddle provides valuable workplace experience through internships for biology and chemistry students. Faculty draw from their backgrounds in anatomy and physiology, biochemistry, entomology, microbiology, molecular biology, material science, organic chemistry and more to guide students with their expertise and teach a broad spectrum of lecture and lab courses.

PROGRAMS

Bachelor of Science in Applied Biology

The Bachelor of Science in Applied Biology provides students with foundational knowledge across the biological sciences, while allowing them the freedom to design their upper-level coursework to suit their interests in career paths such as healthcare, natural resource management or aerospace and aviation. Applied Biology students can choose one of two distinct tracks to tailor their studies — the Environmental Sciences track or the Health Sciences track.

Bachelor of Science in Forensic Biology

The Bachelor of Science in Forensic Biology brings together the disciplines of forensics, biology, chemistry and law to give students the basic laboratory skills and theoretical background required of investigators and leading professionals in forensic science laboratories, law enforcement, pre-medical fields, research areas and legal contexts.
