DEPARTMENT OF HUMANITIES AND COMMUNICATION

Gaining a Profound Understanding

Department of Humanities and Communication

While technical knowledge is important and heavily emphasized in any of our degree programs, we encourage our students to broaden their horizons and seek out soft skills that will enhance their outcomes upon graduation from Embry-Riddle. Without an understanding of how to set goals, negotiate conflict or communicate, a student is likely to experience less success than those who learn how to interact with others and gain a stronger worldview.

PROGRAMS

Minor in Humanities A minor in Humanities benefits students by

developing essential skills like critical thinking and effective communication, fostering cross-cultural understanding, promoting ethical decision-making and expanding career options. With courses like History of Rock and Roll, Digital Media Storytelling and Art of the Classical World, students gain interdisciplinary knowledge and enhance their creativity. Diverse courses that enhance cultural awareness and provide intellectually stimulating subjects also make graduates more attractive to employers.
