GETTING INTO YOUR LOCKED CAR ISN’T A DIY PROJECT

Why It’s Best to Call the Experts

When we find ourselves in a pickle — like being locked out of our own car — many of us instinctively will try to find a way out to avoid a threat to our bank account. While that instinct to avoid spending money is a good one, you might actually end up costing yourself more, financially and otherwise, by trying to get into your locked car by yourself. Here are a few reasons you should always call a locksmith to get back into your car. IT’S ULTIMATELY CHEAPER While you might think a wire coat hanger and a little elbow grease might get you out of your locked car conundrum for free, a lot can go wrong in this scenario. At the very best, you risk scratching the paint on your car, which could cost you a few hundred dollars to repair. At the very worst, you risk breaking a window, which is a much larger bill. To avoid these damages all together, it’s better to just call in the experts. IT’S SAFER Most people don’t know how to break into a car quickly and efficiently, which means they risk injuring themselves when they try. If you jerk your body the wrong way trying to ram an object into the small gap around your car window, you could easily pull a muscle. At the same time, say you break your car window, either accidentally, or (for some

unknown reason) on purpose. That could lead to serious cuts involving a visit to the hospital, some stitches, and a pricey bill.

IT’S LESS SUSPICIOUS Are you doing anything illegal by trying to break into your own car? No. Does it look like you’re doing something illegal? You bet. While you might be able to explain yourself to a suspicious law enforcement officer who happens to catch you with a coat hanger, is that really the kind of interaction you want to deal with? Absolutely not. When it comes down to it, getting a car door unlocking technician on the scene just makes the most sense when you’ve locked yourself out of your car. So, if it ever happens to you, call your local Pop- A-Lock, and we’ll be there before you even have time to worry.
