FEATURE STORY: SALUTING LT. GENERAL CHARLES R. HAMILTON
Airmen and civilians have the resources they need to be very successful in safe- guarding the mission in defense of our Nation, have their opinions heard, have opportunities to learn and grow intellec- tually, and know their work contributes to the broader charge and mission of the United States Army, Deputy Chief of Staff, G-4.” “My promotion ceremony is dedi- cated to my family, friends, mentors, soldiers, and noncommissioned officers who shaped me, briefly or otherwise, into who I am today because they have inspired me to be a better Soldier, leader and person ultimately to become the very best version of myself. I am immensely excited for the future of Logistics, not because of yours truly but because of the Soldiers in the field that have embraced the philosophy of Fit Trained and Disciplined. I feel that I should inspire Soldiers, yet I am often inspired by the Soldiers”… “I would like to thank the follow- ing gentlemen who have all influenced, poured into and molded me over the years and I continue to strive to emulate their tremendous legacy and footprints left for us as guidance and wisdom. These individuals are selfless, my inspi- ration and overall great people beginning with Generals (Ret.) Larry Ellis, William “Kip” Ward, Gus Perna, Robert Brown, Vincent “Vince” K. Brooks, General (Ret.) Dennis L. & Mrs. Via, Lieuten- ant General (Ret.) Arthur “Art” J. Gregg (Army G-4 79-81), Lieutenant General (Ret.) Julius W. Becton (1978 V Corps) who gave me his 3-Star Rank and Gen- eral (Ret.) Johnnie R. Wilson. The individual who had the most influence on me was not present for my promotion ceremony and that is Major General (Ret.) Hawthorne “Peet” Proc- tor. He was in Hawaii for his wedding… Regina and I will travel to Hawaii to witness the grand occasion. I’ve known Major General (Ret.) Hawthorne “Peet” Proctor since I was a 2nd Lieutenant, there is an inspiring story of how we
is out in Hollywood writing…living his dream and I am grateful he chose his passion. My son Reggie joined the fam- ily business and is leading Soldiers in the U. S. Army 82 nd Airborne and Celine just finished graduate school and is pay- ing taxes which means she has a job and she recently signed a lease on her first apartment. My father-in-law is really a true father to me so I just call him Dad. Another true hero, Korean and Vietnam War Veteran who served 32 years in the United States Air Force.” During his leisure time, Brother Lieutenant General Hamilton enjoys running, reading and he is an avid golfer. He and his family serve as a shining legacy to the United States Army includ- ing their gracious sacrifice and service to our Nation.” φνπ
met and how he took mentoring a young officer very seriously, he has been with me since day one…he is a part of our family.” “I really cannot overemphasize the importance of Kappa leadership, we take it for granted, the inside access to so many Nupes throughout the fraternity. This access is symbolic and it represents the talented leadership of Kappa Alpha Psi® located throughout the four corners of the globe. We are men in the commu- nity, in various leadership roles, we do it quietly and we can see the fruits of our labor. I stand on the shoulders of many brothers like the 72 nd Laurel Wreath Recipient General (Ret.) Dennis L. Via. We call them Buffalo Soldiers and this is the highest honor that can be bestowed upon such a service member, period.” “My family have made so many sacrifices and I cannot thank them enough. Most people who spend more than five minutes around me always hear about our children. Make no mistake about it, the greatest accomplishment of my Silhouette and I, is our children. My daughter Crissy runs a law office in Houston TX. Charles, Jr., my namesake,
