CRITTER CLASS: HANDS-ON REPTILE & BUG EXPERIENCE! Discover the wild world of reptiles, amphibians, and insects with educators from Crosstown Exotics: Traveling Reptile and Bug Show! This is not just a show — it’s a true hands-on experience where kids will safely touch, hold, and interact with live animals like snakes, lizards, tortoises, frogs, and bugs. Children will learn why these creatures are so important to our world, explore fun facts about their habits, and even find out what it takes to keep them as pets. Each class features different live animals you won’t find anywhere else—making every session a brand-new adventure!
MINECRAFT ENGINEERING Does your child enjoy Minecraft? Imagine if children could learn Civil Engineering and City Planning principles while they are in a Minecraft world. Students will work as civil engineers and city planners to design and create a structured city that includes roads, bridges, city zones, housing, stores, schools and more. Minecraft is used as the tool for hands-on learning. We inspire future Engineers using Minecraft! This class is instructed by USEL/Chasewood Learning. In this class, students learn by using MIT’s graphical coding platform, Scratch. Beginners to advanced can take this class. Students program interactive media projects, such as stories, games, and animations, without the need for learning a complex programming language and syntax. The activities encourage exploration of key computational thinking concepts and key computational thinking practices. Using an engaging project-based approach students have fun learning coding based on simple visual programming interface. This class is a multilevel program where students are placed based on skill and experience. Students can repeat this class, as they start where they left off from the last class. Students should be familiar with using a computer. This class is instructed by USEL/Chasewood Learning. LEGO ROBOTICS ACADEMY The LEGO Robotics Academy is a comprehensive program where children learn to design, build, and program projects based on LEGO Education robotics. Using a creative educational approach that supports Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM), this class uses teacher-led instruction followed by fun, engaging, and dynamic activities. Students are introduced to basic robotics and mechanical engineering concepts by building and coding a different project each week. Creative challenges are given to students as they progress through levels. The Robotics Academy is a repeatable program where children are placed based on skill and experience. Students move up a level each time they take the class in order to take on more advanced concepts and activities. Students should be familiar with using a computer.
