Authentic Spanish Collections Authentic literature is natural writing that comes from the heart. Authentic texts are written for enjoyment, not for leveling. These titles use rich vocabulary, figurative language, and personal experience in order to accurately represent the authors and their cultures. Years of research has proven that classrooms containing authentic reading materials reap the benefits of accelerated learning outcomes. “Cognitive and academic development in one’s first language has been found to contribute positively in second-language learning”. 1
