The third period offered ups and downs to fans in the building as Malcolm Séguin scored the Cougars second goal, pulling the teams level. Less than a minute later, Nathan Lassenba gave back the lead to St. Isidore. With the scoreline at 3-2 for the Eagles as they approached the final minute of play, Huneault gave the Cougars a golden opportunity to equalize the game with a hooking penalty. Cougars’ captain Joshua Desjardins capitalized on the opportunity with just 58
seconds left in the third period, sending the game into overtime. Desjardins didn’t let up – he scored his second of the game in overtime, and tied up the series after two games. Games three and four of the series are scheduled for this weekend. Game three is at the Vankleek Hill arena at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, February 17. The next day, the Cougars will then travel to St. Isidore for another 7:30 p.m. puck drop.

Les Cougars de Vankleek Hill ont affronté les Aigles de St-Isidore lors de la première ronde des séries éliminatoires. La série est actuellement à égalité 1-1 et les troisième et quatrième matchs sont prévus les samedi 17 et dimanche 18 février (Antoine Messier, EAP)
À la suite d’une victoire de 4-2 contre Brockville le 3 février, les Hawks ont poursuivi leur lancée avec deux autres gains contre les Lumber Kings de Pembrooke, le vendredi 9 février, et les Sénateurs Juniors d’Ottawa, le samedi 10 février. Les fans ont dû attendre la seconde période pour voir le premier but des Hawks, vendredi soir, quand Brayden Besner a placé la rondelle derrière le gardien à la quatrième minutes de jeu. Les Lumber Kings ont répli- qué quelques minutes plus tard avec deux buts, un d’Andrew Schmidt et un autre de Jayson Alegria, les seuls buts des visiteurs lors de la rencontre. Wyatt Schmidek a compté le deuxième but des siens avec seulement sept secondes à jouer en deuxième période. Il compte ensuite son second but de la partie à quatre
Justin Murdoch a compté le premier et seul but des Sénateurs après 15 minutes de jeu, mais Alexis Billequey a égalisé le score moins d’une minute plus tard. On a dû attendre la toute fin de la ren- contre avant de voir un autre but. Aidan Stubbings a marqué le but gagnant pour les Hawks à seulement une minute de la fin de la rencontre, dans les dernières secondes d’un avantage numérique suivant la punition majeure de cinq minutes de William-Fran- sisco Parent, pour avoir donné un coup à la tête. Les Hawks joueront leur prochain match le mercredi 14 février contre Kemptville, au Centre municipal de North Grenville. Leur prochain match à domicile sera le vendredi 16 février, face aux Wolves de Renfrew.

Sullivan renewed the Cougars’ hope in the first minutes of the third period with his second goal of the game, but Justin Cloutier gave the Eagles their sixth goal with 12 minutes left to play, making the final score 6-3 for the Eagles. Cougars get even The Cougars tied-up the series on Satur- day, February 10, with a stunning overtime victory as Vankleek Hill hosted St. Isidore in the second match of the seven-game series. Marcotte gave the Cougars the lead with five minutes to play in the first period. But, despite the Cougars dominating the play in the second period, the Eagles took back the lead with two goals, one from Cloutier and Kyle Huneault each.
The Vankleek Hill Cougars are facing tough opposition in the first round of the playoffs as they take on the St. Isidore Eagles. The Cougars had a rough start to the series Friday night, February 9, in St. Isidore. Jeremy Marchand and Zachary Sullivan scored the first two goas of the series, but the Eagles bounced back before the end of the first period with two goals of their own from Connor Cook and Cedric Hughes. The second period was even more rough for the visiting team. The Eagles scored three back-to-back goals from Alexi Gaudreau, Justin Cloutier and Tyler Proulx to put the
