DC Storytelling reviews

Today we got to see the first ever Dulwich College storytelling. It started with the Storytelling clubs play. It was very funny. It was also improvised and that was their only performance they were ever going to do. So if you missed a bit you would never see it again. We then went back to lessons for a bit and got numbered: one, two, three or four. Those were our groups to listen to the stories . Then we had to go back to the hall to get joined by our numbers from the other classes and to hear three different stories told by six different people. My favourite story was the second one I heard about. It was about a fly that landed in a man’s tea but he drank it anyway and then he went to the doctors to see what could be done about it. He got told to eat a grass snake to eat the fly but then he had a snake in his stomach and he went back to the doctor’s again to see what could be done about that. Then he got told to eat something else to eat the snake and it continues like that until he gets told to find and eat a boar then he finds one and eats it in one big gulp! Then he has to go back to the doctor’s again and he gets told to find and eat a hunter. Then he eats a hunter and he kills the boar but then he fired his gun and nothing was left but a story. We then got told we could ask some questions about the stories but for some reason most of the questions were about the third story about a flying ship. Harry Walker, 4M On Friday, everyone that did storytelling club put together a performance. In our class Kevin and Raphael were acting in the performance. The story was about a boy that met all of these different people, and they asked him two questions, so the boy had to ask the griffin’s wife for the answers. First he had to pluck three golden feathers out of the male griffin (who was quite grumpy). Secondly the boy told the person that he was stuck in the boat and that when someone asks to join you in the boat, let the person in. Then when he comes in, quickly jump out so the person that asks to come in is stuck in the boat until someone else comes. Later on, our class got put into groups. I was in group two and there were two people from the storytelling travelling troupe that told group two a story about a girl that dropped her bucket in the dump. And there was this lady who asked her to do three disgusting favours. When the girl did all three favours, she got to pick a box as well as her bucket. She picked a dull box and when she got home, it was full of nice clothes.

And she live happily ever after.
