TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT SUMMARY OF SERVICES
The Traffic Management Division provides for the operation of the City's traffic signal system and signal synchronization efforts. The Division is also responsible for the City’s traffic circulation system, maintaining and implementing traffic control standards to ensure safety for the traveling public; response to resident concerns regarding traffic flow; implement corrective measures when appropriate; participate in traffic-related litigation; and management of the Irvine Traffic Research and Control (ITRAC) Center. Accomplishments Completion of the design engineering phase for the Irvine Center Drive/Edinger Avenue Regional Traffic Signal Synchronization Project. Implementation of an Adaptive Traffic Signal Control System along Portola Parkway between Culver Drive and Sand Canyon Avenue. Completion of the design engineering phase for the Von Karman/Tustin Ranch Road. Installation of all-way STOP control and school crosswalk on Summit Park at Lonetree Completion of the design engineering phase for the Irvine Boulevard. Implementation of a buffered bike lane treatment on Hearthstone and portions of Northwood and Westwood. Completion of the project development and final design phases for the Protected-Permissive Left Turn Phasing Traffic Signal Improvements.
