SPECIAL FUNDS
Fund 145: STRUCTURAL FIRE FUND The Orange County Fire Authority (OCFA) established its Structural Fire Entitlement Fund on July 22, 1999, to compensate certain cities for being net financial contributors to overall OCFA operations. As of September 30, 2018, Irvine, as a “donor” city has had approximately $5.1 million in available funding. Of that amount, approximately $4.1 million has been spent on the Community Emergency Response Team, firebreaks, Traffic Signal Preempt System, and other fire safety related projects. Future interest will be allocated based on funds remaining. The City and OCFA must agree upon and approve all qualifying projects in advance. The City plans to appropriate approximately $350,000 in FY 2019-20 and 353,000 in FY 2020-21 for two part-time public safety administrators, Community Emergency Response Team supplies, and equipment.
