IP Plans $102M Expansion Of Cedar River Mill In Iowa

According to an article in the Corridor Business Journal , Memphis, Tennessee based International Paper is plan- ning an expansion of its Cedar River Mill in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Before the Cedar Rapids City Council on January 10, the company sought sponsorship of a business financial assistance application to the Iowa Economic Development Authority for a $102 million expansion project with local match funds through the city’s Economic Development Program, records show. In operation since 1995, the Ce- dar River Mill is one of the newest paper mills in the U.S. producing containerboard boxes and packaging and em- ploying approximately 240 employees.
