yet God had made Him to be ruler over us all. The rulers saw that Peter and John were just poor men, and had never had much chance to go to school, and they were greatly surprised to see how bold they were in speaking before them. Many of the people who heard Peter and John preach and saw the wonderful cure of the lame man, believed on Jesus and were saved, and the rulers wanted to keep them from preaching any more, but they did not know how to do it, for the lame man was standing near by well and sound, and they could not deny that a great miracle had been done. The rulers talked among themselves for a while as to what to do with Peter and John to keep them from preaching Je sus to the people, for everybody knew the lame man, and that he had been lame all his life, and could not be cured by doctors, and now he was walking about among them, and of course they knew too that only Jesus* power could heal him. After a while these rulers called Peter and John in to the room where they were, and told them not to speak at all, nor teach about Jesus. Now what do you think Peter and John did when they heard these words from the rulers of the city, who had the pow er to put them in prison, and even to kill them? God’s power and Holy Spirit was with Peter and John, and they an swered the rulers, saying, Whether it is right for us to obey you more than God, you yourselves, may judge; for we cannot help teaching the people about Jesus, and telling them of the things that we have heard Him speak, and seen Him do. The rulers threat ened again to punish them and let them go, because they could not prove any thing wrong against them. Peter and John were brave and stood true to Jesus even though the rulers of the city threatened to punish them. The peo ple who believed in Jesus were all prais ing and giving glory to Jesus for His

Lesson Story.—Now I am going to draw something on the board, and then I want to see who can tell me something about the story we heard last week. Yes, the crutch makes you thing of the lame man. How long had he been lame? All his life. After he had been healed by the power of Jesus, where was the first place he went? To the temple, or church, and praised God. The next day after the lame man had been healed, a number of the people who did not be lieve the words that Peter had been speaking to the people, called Peter and John before them and asked them by what power they had made the lame man walk. Then Peter spoke up and answered that it was by the power of Jesus that the lame man was healed, and he also told them how they had treated Jesus when he was living down here, and had counted Him as nothing,
