THE K I N G ’ S BUS I NESS

“ Whose are the fathers, and of whom as concerning the flesh, Christ came, who is over all, God blessed forever. Amen.” (Acts 2:36.) “ Therefore, let all the house of Is rael know assuredly that God hath made this same Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ.” (Also Isa. 9:6; John 1:1-3; Col. 1:15-17.) (c) The Personality of the Spirit (Acts 5:3, 4). “ But Peter said, Ananias, why hath Satan filled thine heart to lie to the Holy Spirit, and to keep back part of the price of the land?” (d) The Trinity (2 Cor. 13:14). “ The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the commun ion of the Holy Ghost, be with you all, Amen.” (e) Man’s Ruin by Sin (Rom. 3: 9-18). (f) Redemption by the Blood (Rom. 3:25). (g) Salvation by Faith (Acts 10: 43; John 5:24). (h ) .._.The Resurrection of Christ (Rom. 1 :4). “ And declared to be the Son of God with power, according ’to .the Spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead.” (i) The Resurrection of the Believ er (Rom. 8:11). “ But if the Spirit of Him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, He that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by His Spirit that dwelleth in you.” (j) The Return of the Lord (1 Thess. 1:9, 10). “ For they themselves show of us what manner of entering in we had unto you, and how ye turned from idols to serve the living and true God, and to wait for His Son from heaven, whom He raised from the dead, even Jesus, which delivered us from the wrath to come.” (Also Acts 1:11.)

Lord, come into my house, and abide there. And she constrained us.” (Acts 16:31-34.) “ And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house. “ And they spake unto him the word of the Lord, and to all that were in his house. “ And he took them the same hour of the night, and washed their stripes; and was baptized, he and all his, straight way.” Repentance is a change of attitude toward the Lord Jesus. Baptism is the confession of that change, and the new life of the Spirit is a proof of the change. Three thousand souls were made glad by deliverance from guilt and fear, and bore joyful testimony to the presence of the Spirit within them. Baptized into one Spirit, they be came one with the apostles and disci ples, and one with the body of Christ, and members of the first Jewish church of Jerusalem. Three characteristics of the early church are mentioned: 1. Doctrinal foundation. 2. Devotion to Christ and to one another. 3. Daily additions to its fellowship. There was a deep, doctrinal founda-» tion. A creedless church is a spineless church. Churches which have moulded,' fashioned and influenced public life and private life, have been built upon the rock bottom doctrines of the apostles. The apostqlic doctrine included: (a) Inspiration of the Scriptures, ( 2 Tim. 3:16, 17.) “ All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruc tion in righteousness; “ That the man of God may be per fect, thoroughly furnished to all good works.” . - (Also 1 Pet. 1:25; 2 Pet. 1 : 21 .) (b) The Deity of Christ (Rom. 9: 5).
