And, whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die”; “I am the way, the truth, and the life: no one cometh unto the Father, but by me” (John 11:25-26; H:6). Can you say, “Yes, I know my sins are all for given, for Christ gave His life that I might live with Him forevermore!” Re member, “It is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judg ment” (Heb. 9:27). The return of the Lord Jesus could well be today!

God cleanses what He uses, but He first empties what He fills.

TESTIMONY OF IMMORTALITY Dr. Werner Von Braun, so instru mental in the development of our space and missile program declares, “Today, more than ever before, our survival depends on adherence to ethical prin ciples. Atomic energy will either be an earthly blessing or else the source of mankind’s utter destruction. There are two forces which move us. One is belief in a last judgment, when every one of us has to account for what we did with God’s great gift of life on the earth. The other is belief in an immortal soul: a sold which will cherish the award or suffer the penalty decreed in a final judgment. Belief in God and in immortality thus gives us the moral strength we need for every action in our daily lives. In our modem world many people seem to feel that science has somehow made such religious ideas un timely or old-fashioned. But I think,” Dr. Van Braun continues, “that sci ence has a real surprise for the skep tics. Science, for instance, tells us that nothing in nature, not even the tiniest particle, can disappear without a trace. Think about that for a moment. Once you do, your thoughts about life will never be the same. Nature doesn’t know extinction, but rather transformation. If God applies this fundamental prin ciple to the most minute and insig nificant parts of His universe, doesn’t it make sense to assume that He ap plies it also to the masterpiece of His creation, the human soul? Everything science has taught me strengthens my belief in the continuity of our spiritual existence after death!” Very interest ing statements, aren’t they? We don’t pass judgment on Dr. Von Braun’s spirituality, but simply point out that Christ rightly declared, “I am the res

Nothing Is politically right which is morally wrong.

THE CHURCH PARABLE Ten church members went forth to meet the Lord. Five of them were wise, and five foolish. The five wise church members p r e p a r e d themselves for Christ’s coming, while the others didn’t. One day a report went out that the Saviour was coming soon. Who wouldn’t want to stop everything else in order to prepare for that great day? But one of the foolish members excused him self, “Our city is having a celebration the first of June. Since I’m an impor tant member of the planning committee, that will take most of my spare time. Why, think what a poor testimony it would be for the church if I shirked my civic responsibilities! Tell you what. I’ll suggest that we have the church represented in the parade by a big float!” The second foolish member agreed that it was a good idea. As for him self, Christ’s coming was at a very in opportune moment. “I’m planning to leave tomorrow on a long fishing trip. Several of us have been looking for ward to this vacation for a long time. I couldn’t back out now and disappoint my friends. Besides, I think I need a new perspective on life.” The third likewise saw no urgency to the message. He was a prosperous store-owner, now concerned about a downtrend business. “I’m planning a big sale to help things start moving right at the first of June. Obviously,
