5. The resurrection body will poss ess a retention of the same identity and personality that characterized it in the old body. Scroggie wrote, “Although chil dren look like their parents, none of them look altogether alike. And of course, there will be no tiresome uniformity in the future life. The Word of God shows that we each will retain our personal identity. When Moses and Elijah appeared on the Mount after being in heaven many centuries, they were still iden tified as Moses and Elijah.” 6. The resurrection body will ex perience no pain or death in the future life. This resurrection body cannot die —it is immortal! It cannot decay— it is incorruptible. It cannot be touched by disease — it is a body of glory and would not be so if a tragic disease could touch it. Griffith Thomas states: “T h e Scripture in Revelation 21:4, in which it is said that God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes, gives us a little foregleam of the joy of the resurrection morning.” 7. The resurrection body will ex perience a change from mortality to immortality in a moment of time. I Corinthians 15:52, “In a mo ment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump; for the trumpet shall sound and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.” It doesn’t take long for one to blink his eye or to so turn his head that the reflection of light hits the eyeball and thus produces a twinkling of an eye. Well, in a mo ment, in a flash of time, God will re create from the dust of the body in that grave, an immortal body. It is our abiding conviction as we study this indivisible truth together, that the Resurrection Day may not be as far away as we think. It will all be a part of one phase of the second coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
