MANAGEMENT OF THE COVID-19 EMERGENCY

Operating in a sector that inevitably involves a fair degree of manual labour and use of specialised products at times, we constantly strive to ensure full compliance with health and safety regulations and to reduce all risks to a minimum . Much care is re- quired to protect the crew working in the vineyards during pruning and harvesting etc., as well as in winemaking processes such as fermentation, bot- tling and laboratory analyses. In accordance with Italian legislation (D.L. 81/2008), and for the health and safety of our workers, we have introduced a process of identifying possible job-related risks, as well as compiling a risk assessment document and setting up key positions, such as OHS officer, OHS workers’ representative, dedicated personnel and a medical officer. The two principal means of mit - igating injuries are reducing risks in the vineyards, cellars and all other winery sites combined with employee training and awareness.

Employees and other workers, mainly consisting of workers employed in vineyard operations through contracts with service companies, are always and only managed in compliance with the regulations. In 2021, we commissioned a leading consulting firm to conduct an HSE audit in our organisation. The au- dit was conducted in early 2021, and showed sound oversight of the different business areas in terms of health and safety. To improve on this, it suggested creating a position to coordinate these issues and liaise with the various individuals concerned (OHS officer, OHS workers’ representative, dedicated per - sonnel and medical officer). An HSE supervisor was appointed in early 2022 with an official remit.

Training and information Information and training played a crucial role in managing the emergency in the organisation: infor- mation leaflets were issued to all employees, first to raise awareness and then to specify procedures on precautionary measures and health protection. We continued our awareness-raising campaign in 2021, including for guests and suppliers, in order to en- sure people’s safety. • Training and information; • Work procedures and organisation of business operations; • Support. Work procedures and organisation of business op- erations The procedures, organised and defined in our Uni - fied Corporate Protocol, have been updated to keep pace with regulatory developments and to reorgan- ise and make this tool more responsive to sudden updates. The Corporate Safety Committee met peri- odically in the face of significant regulatory updates and/or to share actions to be implemented to safe - guard the corporate community. In particular, in this context, we had to adapt our hospitality of guests and/or customers to accom - modate smaller numbers, but we reorganised our activities to allow, whenever possible, a continu- ous flow of guests to tour our wine cellars in safety. Throughout 2021, we also conducted daily internal From the earliest stages of the health emergency, the business owners implemented a series of ac- tions to limit the spread of the virus, as far as possi- ble; in 2021, the owners continued acting to counter the spread of the pandemic based on the following measures:

control and verification activities in this area, such as inspections to check the use of PPE and rules of conduct, sanitisation and cleaning operations, training and information, planning and documen- tary verification. We evaluated all the business ac - tivities to limit possible opportunities for contagion. Support The winery owners were immediately sensitive to the occupational hardship of their workers, as well as their customers and the supply chain, and they continued providing their support by supplying PPE, reorganising internal work activities and arranging molecular swab campaigns for everyone. Extraordinary measures to support people and territory We are very attentive to the health and safety of our people. Our management of the Covid emergency showed this care: the reaction was prompt, the re- sponse well organised at Group level and contin- ued throughout the duration of the emergency. This allowed us to safely resume and continue running our business and limit operational damage, also en- abling the resumption of hospitality activities within the prescribed limits. The Corporate Safety Committee, created in 2020 to respond to the pandemic emergency, coordinates activities, with the Employer and/or the CEO active members of the Committee. We have been able to align ourselves organically with the changing regu- latory framework, but, in particular, the Committee allowed us to raise awareness with workers and en- sure that there is no contagion within the company units; moreover, this approach has been extended to the other companies in the group.

Injuries

In 2021, only one work-related injury was recorded, when a sales representative was involved in a commut- ing incident; no injuries were recorded for seasonal workers.
