Product quality and safety

Our mission is “to guarantee the highest quality in the production of Franciacorta wines while respecting the territory and tradition to accompany our customers’ joyful moments with a sustainably made product”. We are very attentive to customer satisfaction and seek to demonstrate this through the care we take in the production phase, but also in communicating our principles and values to our customers. This com- munication takes place through our network of rep- resentatives, but also directly through the media and dedicated newsletters, which come into direct contact with the end consumer by means of our hospitality business.

Multi-channelling – a fundamental feature of the busi- ness approach to the market – brings us into contact with different interlocutors: representatives, custom- ers, online platforms and end consumers, each of whom receives dedicated periodic communications. We want to play the role of an “educator” with respect to the territory and the Franciacorta product, dedicat- ing various activities to publicising not only our prod- uct, but also the characteristics of Franciacorta region and its wine. In the course of 2021, we communicated with end consumers by means of regular Direct Email Market- ing and renewed our website, including sections on the territory, the method and sustainability.

Alongside environmental impacts, the health of con- sumers remains one of our primary concerns. We are committed to prioritising this aspect throughout the entire supply chain, right up to when bottles are delivered. A cornerstone of our approach for a safe, high-quality product is compliance with laws and regulations. On this basis, we research the best pro- duction practices in the field, the best oenological practices in the winemaking cellar and continuous monitoring, under the guidance of the oenologist, through our own modern analysis laboratory. The laboratory performs tests at every stage of the pro- duction process, from the ripening of the grapes prior to harvesting to shipping of the finished prod - uct, to ensure that we are marketing a safe product that meets the parameters laid down by legislation and has no harmful effects on humans, at the same time maintaining a high standard of quality.

All our products have a sulphite level of less than 50% of the maximum limit set by law. We have sig- nificantly reduced the use of sulphites thanks both to the meticulous hygiene and cleanliness of the premises and equipment and the gentle processing of the grapes, and thanks to biotechnology, e.g. the use of specific yeasts (which bio-protect the musts), natural antioxidants (tannins), microorganisms spe- cialised in reducing oxygen in the must, and inno- vative technologies (e.g. jetting) to reduce contact of the wine with the air during disgorging. In 2021, there were no incidents of non-compliance with regulations and/or self-regulatory codes con - cerning health and safety impacts.

Nome del vino

È il primo Franciacorta mai prodotto: le prime 3.000 bottiglie furono siglate nel 1961 nelle cantine Berlucchi. Un’icona italiana che impreziosisce ogni occasione, dall’aperitivo al brindisi.
