Hospitality

Promoting Franciacorta The Guido Berlucchi name is inextricably and fundamentally linked with Franciacorta. Franco Ziliani’s genius was behind the adoption of the Metodo Classico, which laid the foundations for the region’s revival. More recently, Franco’s sons have begun to pursue initiatives in the area and beyond to highlight and promote this extraordinary area where nature and history provide the backdrop for intensive economic activity, both ag- ricultural and industrial.

DIRECT CONTACT WITH THE CONSUMER AND DEVELOPING THE LOCAL TERRITORY

We view guest hospitality at the winery as an im- portant moment for direct interaction with the end consumer and for promoting the territory. The Zil - iani family looks after the historical legacy of the La- na-Berlucchi family and, aware of the importance of values such as tradition and cultural heritage, dedi- cates resources and energy to the upkeep of Palazzo Lana-Berlucchi, keeping intact its historical interi- ors and original atmosphere. The wine tastings and events, which are organised on a regular and professional basis, are a valuable opportunity not only to convey the passion and commitment invested in the preparation of the wines, but also to convey to consumers the sustain-

able approach adopted in creating our wines and to promote the values of the Italian culture and Fran- ciacorta in particular. For this reason, the tours are organised with the ut- most care and management and the head of sus- tainability are directly responsible for checking and supervising the texts for the guides. The Palazzo, the Cellars and also the historic Brolo Vineyard provide a prominent backdrop for events in the area. The events, which are linked to the win- ery’s activities, are organised very carefully to also showcase other food excellences in the territory.

ACADEMIA BERLUCCHI

In order to continue the project of conveying the values of talent and care for the territory and promoting a culture of sustainability, in 2019 Guido Berlucchi launched the ACADEMIA BERLUCCHI project. This constantly evolving project consists of the organisation of training sessions involving experts of the high- est level. The project addresses our workers, local and national institutions, other eco- nomic players in the area, and a new generation of general public. Academia is a multi-year project of great cultural and strategic significance. All activities organised as part of Academia are accessible not only in-person but also through publication on various media (Facebook, YouTube, Spotify).

THE BOARD 2021

THE SPEAKERS 2021

Key topics in the various editions were Sustainable Territories (2019), Young Talents (2020) and Talent, sustenance for the Future (2021). After the online edition in 2020, we went back to the in-person event at Palazzo Lana Berlucchi in 2021, in a social and safe environment alike, to en- courage interaction between speakers and guests. At the same time, we streamed the event online to reach many more people and thus make a signifi - cant impact for positive change. • Francesco Morace Sociologist, Founder of Future Concept Lab, Scientific Director and Coordinator of Academia • Giovanni Aversa Deputy Director of RAI 1 • Caroline Corbetta Curator of contemporary art and founder of @ilcrepaccio • Cristina Ziliani representative and contact person of the Ziliani Family for the Academia project

• Stefano Boeri Architect and Urban Planner • Irina Mella Burlacu Founder and owner of Vita International • Lara Gilmore Bottura President of Food for Soul • Stefano Mancuso Botanist and essayist • Vito Mancuso Theologian and Philosopher • Barbara Nappini President of Slow Food Italia

The European Cultural Heritage Counts for Europe (CHCFE) project recently demonstrated, through extensive and accurate research, how in order to be most effective, a holistic approach to sustainable development must consider the impacts on four main domains: culture, society, environment, economy. The European Heritage Green Paper, recently published by Europa Nostra, shows just how crucial it is to focus on cultural heritage and local traditions in the fight against climate change in order to recover, promote and make the best use of good practices developed over centuries and marked by a harmony with nature that has sometimes been lost.

Furthermore, we concluded the 2021 edition with a concert by pianist Stefano Bollani at the Teatro Grande in Brescia . The concert, which we offered to all Academia guests and staff, also making it open to the general public, had the value of bringing a great artist to the Brescia area and financing the Food for Soul charity, founded by Lara Gilmore and Massimo Bottura, with its proceeds.
