Face to Face Still Matters Some of the most meaningful conversations in our lives were never planned. They happened in doorways, across counters, in parking lots, or when you ran into someone you didn’t expect to see. They happened face to face. There’s no denying that screens have improved our lives in many ways. They help us stay in touch across miles, run businesses more efficiently, share information in- stantly, and stay connected when being together isn’t possible. Technology has made life faster, easier, and more accessible. But somewhere along the way, conven- ience started to replace connection. We message instead of stopping by. We react instead of responding. We scroll while standing next to people we care about. We know what others are posting, but not always how they’re really doing. Face-to-face conversation offers something screens never can. It carries tone, pauses, ex- pressions, and emotion. It allows room for empathy the kind that happens when you’re fully present, not multi- tasking behind a screen. In small towns and close-knit communities, conversa- tion has always been the glue. It’s how trust is built, how friendships form, and how neighbors become more than just familiar faces. It’s how local businesses grow, and how people feel seen and valued. When screens take over too much of that space, we don’t just lose conversation we lose patience, under- standing, and a sense of belonging. Not all at once, but slowly, in small unnoticed ways. This doesn’t mean technology is the problem. It’s a tool and a powerful one. The problem comes when we forget to put it down long enough to truly connect with the people right in front of us. Face-to-face conversations don’t have to be long or seri- ous to matter. A quick hello. A shared laugh. Asking someone how they’re really doing and giving them the time to answer. So maybe this month, we choose a conversation over a notification a little more often. Because while screens connect us… it’s personal interaction that keeps us con- nected...

½ cup butter (1 stick) 4 oz semi-sweet or milk chocolate 2 eggs 2 egg yolks
¼ cup sugar 2 tbsp flour 1 tsp vanilla Pinch of salt Optional toppings: powdered sugar, strawber- ries, vanilla ice cream Preheat oven to 425°F. Grease 4 ramekins (or muffin tin cups). Melt butter and chocolate to- gether until smooth. Whisk eggs, egg yolks, and sugar until slightly fluffy.Slowly whisk in melted chocolate. Stir in flour, vanilla, and salt. Pour into ramekins and bake 10–12 minutes (edges set, center soft). Let sit 1 minute, then flip onto a plate or enjoy right away. Pink Champagne Punch (Galentine’s Favorite!) 1 bottle champagne or prosecco (chilled) 3 cups pink lemonade (chilled) ½–1 cup vodka (optional) Frozen strawberries or raspberries (for garnish) Lemon slices (optional) In a large pitcher, add pink lemonade and vodka (if us- ing). Slowly pour in the champagne or prosecco. Add frozen strawberries/raspberries to keep it cold and extra cute. Pour into glasses and serve immediately! Chocolate-Covered Strawberry Martini 2 oz vanilla vodka 1 oz strawberry liqueur (or 1 oz strawberry puree) 1 oz cream or half & half 1 tbsp chocolate syrup Ice Drizzle chocolate syrup inside a martini glass (optional but fun!). Fill a shaker with ice. Add vanilla vodka, strawberry liqueur (or puree), and cream. Shake well for 15–20 seconds until cold. Strain into your glass and garnish with a strawberry. Enjoy

Not gonna lie… Sometimes I need a pep talk. So instead of waiting for one, I wrote it myself because I have a feeling this might apply to everyone. Dear Me, I’m writing this to remind you of something you forget when the world gets loud: you were whole before anyone else showed up, and you will be whole no matter who stays or leaves. You don’t need permission to exist, to rest, to dream, or to take up space. You don’t need to earn love by being smaller, quieter, easier, or more convenient. You don’t need someone else’s hands to steady you...look at how far you’ve already walked on your own. You have carried yourself through nights no one clapped for. You have survived heartbreaks you never announced. You have rebuilt from pieces and still found room for kindness. That is not luck. That is you. I love how you keep going even when you’re tired. I love how you feel deeply but refuse to let bitterness win. I love how you choose growth over comfort, truth over illusion, peace over proving. You don’t need to be cho- sen...you choose yourself. You don’t need to be saved...you already survived. You don’t need to be completed...there is nothing missing. There were chapters you thought would last forever. They didn’t. Well, that was fun. And then you kept going..wiser, lighter, still standing. If someone walks beside you some- day, let it be because they add warmth, not be- cause you were cold. Let it be because they admire your light, not because you forgot you had it. Promise me this: When doubt creeps in, you will come back to yourself.
