Don’t Let the Grinch Hack Your Christmas! Stay Cybersafe and Protect Your Data

The holiday season is a time for joy, but it’s also when cybercriminals increase their efforts, exploiting distractions. Phishing, scams, and cyberattacks are more common during this time. Our Director of IT, Rasciel Hosca, says to stay safe, keep the following in mind: Apply Cyber Awareness Training Pause before clicking and verify the authenticity of emails, links, and requests, especially those urging immediate action or offering deals that seem too good to be true. Stay Alert for Phishing Check sender addresses, look for spelling errors, and verify links before clicking. Avoid opening unexpected attachments. Verify Requests Confirm financial or sensitive requests through official channels. Never share personal information in response to unsolicited requests. Practice Safe Online Habits Use strong, unique passwords, enable multi-factor authentication, and avoid sensitive transactions over public Wi-Fi. Shop only from trusted websites with “https://.” Report Suspicious Activity Report anything suspicious to ITsupport@frenchmanscreek.com.
