Munster Automation recently completed a significant access control and automation upgrade at Sacred Heart University in Dingle, delivering a secure, efficient and future-ready solution for the campus. The project was designed to enhance overall site security while improving accessibility and operational flow for staff, students and authorised visitors. Munster Automation was responsible for the full supply, installation and commissioning of the access control system, the automated main entrance gate and a new automatic door installation. A key element of the upgrade was the implementation of a modern access control system, enabling the university to effectively manage entry permissions across designated access points. The
system provides improved monitoring and control, supporting both daily campus activity and controlled access outside of normal operating hours, while also allowing for future expansion as requirements evolve. The main entrance gate was upgraded with a robust automated solution designed to accommodate high traffic volumes. This upgrade improved perimeter security while ensuring smooth and reliable operation. A range of safety devices and control measures were incorporated in line with current standards, ensuring safe use for both vehicles and pedestrians. In addition, a new automatic door was installed at a primary campus entrance to enhance accessibility and streamline pedestrian flow. The door integrates seamlessly with the access
control infrastructure, providing reliable performance while supporting inclusive access requirements.
