New COO appointed by AP Haslam

Two new members, Stakelums of Thurles and Sundrive Electrical of Kimmage, have joined the Irish Electrical Buying Group (IEBG). Based near the racecourse in Thurles, Stakelums operates both retail and wholesale electrical and plumbing businesses and is an important part of the local economy. Sundrive Electrical has established a loyal customer base, particularly in the housebuilding market, over more than 30 years in business. Ken Legros, Group Administrator, said, “We are always looking to improve our geographical presence, particularly in areas where we have no branches or a small share of the local market, and Stakelums and Sundrive have added significantly to our presence in both Tipperary and Dublin. “Both Stakelums and Sundrive are long-established, family-run businesses, so they already have a lot in common with the IEBG Group’s current members, and we wish them every success as they join the group.” www.aew.ie/iebg IEBG adds two new members

Harvey Group wins SRC contact

Newtownabbey-based Harvey Group has been sub-contracted by Felix O’Hare to deliver M&E design-and-build services alongside consulting engineer Semple & McKillop for the new Southern Regional College (SRC) Newry Innovation Centre. The £14.5m Innovation Centre will offer vibrant, student-centred learning environments promoting innovation, creativity and academic excellence across further and higher education. It will be built on the existing Newry East Campus car park on Patrick Street, formerly the site of Newry Sports Centre, with construction commencing in early 2026 and

the build planned to be operational from September 2027. The new campus is fully funded by the Department for the Economy. Designed by McAdam, the 2,223sqm, two-storey facility will offer vibrant, student-centred learning environments promoting innovation, creativity and academic excellence across further and higher education. Key features will include a dedicated project-based learning space, collaborative workspaces and breakout areas, all designed with a strong focus on sustainability and energy efficiency. www.harveygroup.co.uk
