O’Neill Mechanical & Electrical Services was appointed to deliver the electrical services package for the Claremont residential development on Howth Road, Dublin 13. The development comprises 512 apartments in four blocks, along with additional facilities including a gym, crèche, retail unit, restaurant, café and anchor unit. Construction commenced in May 2023, with the development delivered in two distinct phases to facilitate efficient delivery and services integration. Block A was completed in February 2025, and Blocks B, C and D in June 2025, with each phase strategically sequenced to support timely commissioning, streamlined mechanical and electrical integration and coordinated handover in line with the overall programme and stakeholder requirements. O’Neill’s scope of works included the installation of all electrical services, working closely with design and
construction teams to ensure the project requirements were met. Electrical installations for Claremount included LV distribution throughout the building from the basement up to the sixth floor and energy-efficient LED general and emergency lighting with automatic detection utilised in communal areas to ensure lighting is only operated on presence detection. Power and data requirements included fibre backbone to each apartment. The fire alarm installation uses an addressable system to an L2/L3 standard. Security and access control systems were installed allowing monitoring and limitation to access throughout the building. Also included was a lightning protection system. The electrical team had to work closely with the mechanical contractor to ensure efficient and effective operation of all mechanical plant including the district heating system.
