Preserve existing affordable housing in the project area.

• Identify and map existing affordable housing in the project area (e.g. buildings that allow vouchers, senior housing, and affordable market rate) • Assess the year-over-year inventory of affordable residences to quantify the difference between supply and demand. • Develop policies that support preservation resources and programming (e.g. local funds for landlords to maintain prices, opportunity to buy program for tenants, and similar) • Explore how new tax revenue generated can contribute to local funds to support retention of affordable housing.

Encourage architectural design consistency with the urban design principles of the Stitch, to integrate the style of new housing with the character of Atlanta and create a sense of belonging. Seek and utilize representative public input on housing.

Develop policies to guide developers’ architectural design choices, so that they honor existing character and culture.
