METHODOLOGY
VOLUME CALIBRATION “On the ground” turning movement counts (TMCs) and pedestrian volumes were collected at Techwood Drive NW and North Avenue NW by Marr Traffic Data Collection on Wednesday, April 12, 2023. Vehicle TMCs (CVD+ data) were collected for the same timeframe in StreetLight to determine the baseline difference in volumes by mode, approach, and movement. The overall vehicle TMC ratio between Marr and Streetlight was 82%, meaning that the in situ vehicle counts are, on average, 82% of the StreetLight volumes. The same is to say that StreetLight vehicle volumes are, on average, 1.2 times (or 20%) higher than volumes collected in the field. Table E-1: Vehicle traffic calibration

Pedestrian crossing counts are available from Streetlight for the month of April as recently as in 2022 and could be specified to “Wednesdays” as well as individual hours (7am to 10am, etc.), but the analysis is not a direct comparison with the day of Marr Traffic Data Collection. Therefore, the calculated ratio should be applied with caution. The overall pedestrian volume ratio between Marr and Streetlight was 31%, meaning that the in situ pedestrian counts are, on average, 30% of the StreetLight volumes. The same is to say that StreetLight pedestrian volumes are, on average, 3.4 times higher than volumes collected in the field.
