For this analysis, the walkshed radius is 1 mile and the bikeshed radius is 3 miles. That is to say trips less than 1 mile can be walked and trips less than 3 miles can be biked with little effort and a comparable travel time. The average rate of these trip lengths on surface streets is shown in section “Trip Length (Distance)”. These rates were applied to the AADT of the surface streets to get the potential number of active modes trips.
