Description

Installation of on‐street protected bike lane and other safety improvements where feasible ( eg. ADA improvements, vertical lane delineators/safe crossing treatments, lane narrowing, etc). Improvements are planned between Luckie Street and John Lewis Freedom Parkway and also along the length of Willoughby Way, which will connect the Eastside BeltLine and Freedom Park Trail to the Westside BeltLine Connector trail This project will serve as the Central Park Place Bike Lane Project originally born out of Cycle Atlanta 1.0 (ID# C6). Will include Installation of on‐street protected bike lane and other safety improvements where feasible ( eg. ADA improvements, vertical lane delineators/safe crossing treatments, lane narrowing, etc) This project includes targeted improvements that allow existing and future transit to work better and improve the pedestrian environment along North Avenue between Luckie Street and the Eastside BeltLine. Proposed improvements include the addition of bus s helters, “smart city” features such as real-time bus arrival information and transit signal priority at signalized intersections, and safer pedestrian crossings.
