schools during the course of the year, and other faculty members from those schools would come and teach at Biola. It was really an extensive notion that I had, but after I began to think about the nitty gritty, I realized that it was an idea without any solid foundation, and so I had to give that up. While I was Dean, I had been pushing for the collegiate standard, and there was one faculty member, whose name does not need to be mentioned, who was a very influential member of the faculty and who was heartily opposed to the idea of moving the school into any direction other than that which it had been pursuing through the years. He opposed me at every turn, and he had a little group of faculty members who, whenever he spoke, always voted exactly as he had directed in his remarks. It came to the point where he appeared before the Board of Directors, and I was not there.
