MEMOIRS BY DR. SAMUEL H. SUTHERLAND PRESIDENT EMERITUS June 20, 1986 Page 16 - Tape 5

As I have said before, I want to repeat and reiterate, that I believe that it is morally and intellectually dishonest for anyone to come in as administrator or any group to come in as administrators and change the nature of a school from its doctrinal and ideological position into something which it was not. I feel so strongly about this that I cannot emphasize it too much. The higher educational program of the United States is strewn with disaster because of these who have been Johnny-come-latelys and they endeavored to change the nature of the colleges that they entered into something they were not. And it has always been, without exception, leading toward liberalism, modernism, call it what you will, denial of the essentials of the gospel.
